Environmental monitoring can involve measuring various physical, chemical, and biological parameters of the environment, such as air and water quality, soil properties, and the presence of pollutants or pathogens.
Environmental monitoring can be done for a variety of reasons, including compliance with environmental regulations, identification of environmental risks, monitoring of environmental restoration projects, and research and development of new environmental technologies.
